The Dark skin - fair skin hypocrisy among Indian guys

For them, skin colour is used as yardstick when it comes to choosing their life partner. We have written on machas who prefer only fair skinned ladies and many machas ridiculed us – denying that they have such preferences. However, we have come across a number of memes highlighting how machas would love to have fair skinned girls as life partners. One is on Atlee and his fair wife. Atlee is dark skinned and he managed to get a fair skinned wife. So, machas got over confident that if Atlee who happens to be dark can land a fair meenachi (superr figure), then they can too. (Well, some machas will say that it’s just for comedy but colorism is a real issue addressed by major news portals so this ain’t ‘just comedy’. It runs deeper than that) First of all, these machas can only see what’s on the surface and they think that just by being dark, it is more than enough to get a fair skinned girl as life partner.

Atlee, like all director wannabes, had faced his fair share of difficulties in establishing his position in Kollywood through hit movies. He carved a name for himself and is recognized for his talents. Now, Atlee has a successful career and he is financially stable. So, yes – Atlee can get not only a fair skinned meenachi, but any meenachi. Meenachis would want a successful man to be her husband. These machas have totally overlooked this most important point. Every time, we emphasize on machas to build their career and financial capacity – these guys come up with all sort of excuses. ‘Avan, avan kastham avanukku than teriyum. (Only one will know his difficulties and challenges). Even a simple request of learn/master English so that you can find a better job received flak from machas who think you don’t need the language at all in the first place. So, let us get this straight dear machas whom we advice for your own good – you don’t want to work hard, you don’t want establish a career/name for yourself (being a gangster and putting yourself on PDRM hit list does not count), you don’t want to develop your skills and talents – yet, you want a girl like Atlee’s wife? Atlee engge, ningge lam engge? (Where are you and where is Atlee?)

Plus, as much as you are impressed with her fair skin, she must be impressed with your achievements, ambitions and skills - like it or not, it goes both ways. If you don’t have any of those, what do you expect her to measure you with? Your dark skin? So, if a successful macha comes over, she will definitely dump you and go with that macha. Simply because if you have a right to choose fair skinned girls, then girls have a right to choose a life partner who is financially stable and successful. Sounds fair enough to you?

Well, we don’t know whether these machas can see the glaring success that Atlee has achieved through his sweat. But we can see that machas can only see that IDLI white wife that he is married to. Nothing comes easy in life dear machas, and anything that comes easy will not remain forever. So, before you demand for white/velei/fair wives – you might wanna look at yourself and ask whether you are even anywhere near Atlee’s achievements. Sedar diri la sikit.. And, besides, you being such colorists isn’t impressive at all.
