The Indian Society’s Biased Judgement towards Machas and Meenachis
A few weeks back, we highlighted a particular page that is thrashing women based on silly issues such as two school kids dancing to a vulgar song and a lady purportedly smoking weed. These girls were collectively labelled as damaging the Indian culture and image. Many so called keyboard warrior machas posted comments, criticizing these girls as if they themselves are of good attitude and behaviour. In fact, one comment came to mind –‘Inthe pundengge sonna kekathungge, aprom veena poi namma ethukunom’ (they won’t listen, and then they expect people to accept them after getting rotten’). Take note of the word pundek that has been used in the comment. Did you see how easily these machas cumulatively label all girls negatively and enjoy thrashing them for minor mistakes - mistakes that aren’t against the law? Appadiye ulagam alinje mathiri scene poduthungge (these machas act like it’s apocalypse).
Now, we have a stab and murder case in Johor involving a mother and a daughter. The perpetrators have been arrested, machas in their 20s and guess what, not even a squeak from these so called pages who so righteously condemned the school girls. So, let us get this straight. Machas get riled up when two school girls dance for vulgar songs – labelling them ‘ithulam engge urupadu pothungge – pinjile paluthuruchi’ (they won’t turn up to be good). But, when machas stab/slash and murder girls – other machas and the society turns a blind eye towards it? Not even a word about it and everyone is pretending that it didn’t happen? The same reaction was given to the perpetrator of the PD accident, where the macha slashed his wife with parang. Another macha murdered his girl by pushing her into a ravine – the indian society did not react. So, meenachi dancing to a vulgar song is a mannika mudiyathe (unforgivable) mistake and can be used as a yardstick to measure their future attitude but machas murdering girls is ignorable offence. Seriously, this is the twisted logic that the Indian society holds on to until today.
Meenachis wearing bare back blouse, going to clubs, drinking and smoking is a MAJOR, uyir pore (life threatening) issues that the society needs to condemn and criticize. However, machas turning to gangsterism and murder is a MINOR issue from the perspective of the Indian society!!! Meenachis being thimiru (stubborn), egoistic and demanding for high quality husband material – ava padiche thimiru (she is arrogant). Machas going rampant on criminal act, murdering meenachis and even fellow machas themselves – well, let’s pretend that it didn’t happen! Everyone goes about like nothing happened. No one addresses the issue and no one comes out to say that criminal acts are wrong and such machas must be heavily punished!!!!
The hypocrisy is so damn glaring on how the society is hell bent on judging a woman’s each and every move and yet, would not say a word to machas who commit brutal criminal acts. We are surprised that there are meenachis who staunchly argue with us that women have already been given equal rights in the Indian society. Is this what you call EQUAL? Where are you idiots at this moment? Meenachis are not allowed to even decide how they should dress while machas can murder girls simply for rejecting their love proposal. Is this how you ladies think EQUALITY has been achieved? If yes, then you are seriously delusional or you are plain jingchak to some karat machas out there. As long as the Indian society allows machas a wide berth and impunity because they are ambele while tightly controls the meenachis because they are ladies – then we will have more murderers and criminals walking among us.
