What it feels like to have breasts like women?
Men will never understand what it is really like to have breasts or boobies or tits or hooters - whatever creepy names people come up with for them. Now, this may bring in unwanted attention which I certainly don't aspire for, I am writing a general experience of having breasts.
They look great when you are young but not so flattering on an aged body. Who’s gonna deny that? Since we were little, we were brainwashed with how beautiful breasts should look like. But when you grow up and get them, you kind of realize what it is actually like to have them.
1.You have to wear a bra all the time. You can’t just set them free. Bras are uncomfortable and suffocating. I still remember how I just hated each time I had to get my bras on when I need to go out. This was the early years where my breasts are still developing. Nothing beats wearing T-shirt or blouse alone without the bra. It’s like this creepy insect that clings to your chest and constricts your breathings.
2.When you don't wear a bra, you are slut shamed and ogled at by some random asshole. If you decide to wear a bra and a bra strap decides to peek out somewhere, you are slut shamed again. If you have big breasts, you become an object of ogling and are again slut shamed. You attract men’s attention and some old ladies will tell you to hide your prominent chest balls – afraid that it will be a powerful tool to seduce men. If men leer at you, then it’s your fault – your breasts are so big? Cover them with loose clothes – some might tell you. If you don't have big breasts, well, you look boyish and people make fun of you. Aunties will tell you to wear push up bras so that you have chest balls and your chance of getting a man is brighter.
3.If you are extra blessed, you are also blessed with terrible, terrible back aches which just don't seem to go ever. You will also have difficulties in finding the correct size of bra that covers your breasts properly and gives proper support. You don’t want any nipple shapes to be showing on your blouse because your bra padding is thin. And you don’t want your breasts to go merry bouncing left and right while you are running or doing some physical activities. A friend once made this remark to me while I was doing sit ups in the gym – wow, your breasts shake a lot. So, you see how difficult it is to focus on exercise when you keep on wondering whether others are looking at you or your shaking chest balls? Such is the power of breasts when they are attached to a female body. And getting a proper sports bra or yoga bra for the extra huge breasts are not easy. Imagine bending to the floor and holding your ankles, and half of your breasts pour out of your bras? Yes, that can be embarrassing – tucking them in while hoping no one caught a glimpse of them popping out of your bra.
4. Imagine, you’re getting late for a class and you decide to sprint to reach in time and not miss your attendance. Guess what? You can't do that because your breasts decide to fly everywhere. The same goes with dancing. People have unreasonable expectations with breasts. They want to see them but they make women feel guilty for having them. So, having lumps of fat on my chest is acceptable but having a little fat on my thighs or on my tummy is not. Hypocrisy? Eh? Not everybody can be Kim Kardashian with a narrow waist and big rack and everything. If you lose weight somewhere in your body, you lose weight everywhere.
5.You can't sleep on your stomach because otherwise you’ll have a sore chest. You can’t scrub them hard while taking a shower coz the breasts ache when pressed. 2 weeks before your period and your breasts become tender and sore, even wearing bra, especially underwired ones is painful. If you get nudged in the breasts, the pain is equivalent of being kicked in the balls.
Your breast becomes a part of your identity. Trust me, I was given a name because of them. (no, I am not sharing it.) Talking about them is not acceptable because it makes people uncomfortable. So, you have to live while pretending that something does not exist on your chest. But all in all, I am grateful that I was blessed with them. They are just another body part. All of them are beautiful. They are a source of joy and pride, be it big or small. Anything I missed and you girls want to add? Do so in the comment box. ;)
