Abortion - the Indian morality or rather, the Indian hypocrisy behind it

Alright. Now for a personal story regarding abortion. I was almost aborted because my mother got pregnant with me many years after my elder sister was born. My father was to retire in 7 years and my mother was a housewife. There was financial insecurity - I was unwanted. But, my father wouldn't have me aborted and there was this hope that I would be a boy. Close shave for me.

Now, I've heard some people pitying 'little souls', asking and telling a woman that had an abortion due to health complications. social stigma and getting pregnant again in less than 6 months after having a baby, 'why did you get pregnant in the first place?' and 'to be careful next time.'

It's a ball of cells. Not a little soul. I ask you, you're in a fertility clinic. And suddenly it caught fire. A 2 year old kid and a 1000 fertilised embryos are there trapped. Which ones you'll save? The kid or the 1000 embryos? Listen, an existing life on earth is far, far, far, far, far more important, precious and valuable than a ball of cells in the womb or on a petri dish. In in vitro fertilisation, many fertilised cells don't implant or simply die in the lab. Are you going to cry foul over that too, going 'pity the little souls?

Sex selective abortions are fit to be battled because it skews sex ratio and results in an imbalance, crime against women and other societal scourges. But these types of abortions are warranted. You worry about the ball of cells but not the mother's health? Her existing child doesn't matter to you?

I personally will never abort the ball of cells in my womb but that doesn't mean I should preach to other women to do the same.

Fully formed humans on earth are more important than unborn balls of cells. That's why I am pro adoption here as well. But for a majority of Indians, the logic, "Own children also won't take care of parents, what more adopted children." First, Indians and Asians in general should learn that children are not their retirement funds. What's more disgusting is the fact that the Malaysian Welfare Department won't give monthly monetary aid to aged people with adult children having a job and income - it seems that the children can give money and take care despite them having families of their own. That is sick you know. Sick and fucked up as fuck. That reason will be scorned in the UK, Nordic countries and EU where even people with non visible disability get monthly monetary allowance - even adults out of jobs get allowance. The only catch is, the people there aren't complacent. Jobless adults don't stay jobless just because the government supports them. They actively look for jobs, not having the alpam attitude. The disabled can move freely there - they can occupy public space. The governments there made such facilities - when was the last time you saw a disabled person whizzing by you in a wheelchair in a supermarket? Government thinking that aged citizens are not their responsibility but their children's is preposterous.

And, as though we are all have so much open attitudes and effective sex ed. Steve Jobs and Sweden's PM Stefan Lovfen are both children born out of wedlock. Their biological mothers gave them up for adoption - the mothers got to choose what set of parents are going to adopt their child. The Apple icon's birth mother who got pregnant at 19, while still in college, chose her baby's adoptive parents' criteria, that both should be graduates. The rest is fucking history.

Salute to the hypocritical Indian society

Could a child born out of wedlock become a business tycoon or a country's leader in our nations? Fat chance, pun intended. There are so many cases of baby dumping in Malaysia. Why? It's because of the stigma associated with morality. There are teens who didn't know they were pregnant until labour kicked in. Why? It's because we don't have sex ed. And now, you're against abortion too? I was almost aborted and I think it is warranted because my mother was worrying on how to raise me.

We invented kamasutra and 69 sex positions. But we're too shy to educate our children about their bodies, body parts, what they are capable of and why Mother Nature put em there. You say sex ed will corrupt our society while furiously fapping to BDSM porn and vilifying Sunny Leone for adopting a baby girl because she was a pornstar. And, you have the gall to tell women what to do with their lady bits.

And, please stop being so self righteous. Either you do away with the stigma of out of wedlock pregnancy, devise an efficient adoption policies, including making it easier for single men to adopt and teach sex ed or you STFU on what women do with their bodies which is unpleasant after all. Perhaps except for sex which also you curtail in the name or 'character' and must bleed at the first time! Myths and misogyny rule the day!
