Moral Policing - Entitlement, Pervertnes & Indian Guys

This is for those Indian guys and girls who have posted comments under Rubashini's video in an FB page labeled Ken Tut. Those who have condemned her dressing sense - like seriously you assholes? Why are you shaming her on what she is wearing? But then again, this is not the first page on social media to do that nor will it be the last one. Indians guys in Malaysia have always thought that they can open their 'drainage' mouth and start dishing advice to others on dressing etiquette.

A closer look at the respondents' demographic will indicate that most Indian guys who have posted comments there don't have good English proficiency. Not saying that it is okay to moral police women with good English but I feel the intense need to point out how low these guys are when it comes to education level which correlates to display their thinking capacity. And they try to establish a sense of importance and worthiness by playing the role of culture/moral polices even when in reality, they are under achieved human beings.

How is this sense of importance  achieved? Most guys who have nothing better to do feel like it is their responsibility to put woman in her place. When they shame and ridicule Indian women for their way of dressing, it gives them something 'useful' to do. It creates an illusion that they are playing a pivotal role in safeguarding the sanctity of the Indian culture (feel free to roll your eyes, ladies). This attitude is further encouraged by Tamil movies and heroes who 'addakkuren' heroines into 'homely' girls by preaching proper dressing sense to them.

The very famous scene from Sivakasi where the hero preaches on how a girl should be dressed to avoid attracting unwanted attention.

Here alone, the entire scene shouts fucking entitlement where a random guy on the street thinks he can advise a girl on how she should be dressed. And the scene conveniently shifted the entire blame on the girl that harassment was due to her choice of clothes. We all know clothes have no role in woman being sexually harassed or raped but such movies go to great lengths to emphasize otherwise.

When I was younger, I have always thought that guys who preach culture and religion actually uphold and practice them in real life. Slowly I realized that it is not true. In fact, most guys who moral police women are the very guys who behave like perverts. A closer look at any such pages on social media will reveal comments as below:

a) calling the girl slut, whore, thevudiya, prostitute
b)  ceremoniously labeling how badly she was brought up
c) calling her a shame to the society
d) asking her one night price/rate
e) labeling her 'arippu'

Some of these guys even go to the extend of sharing personal information of such girls. In one particular video, a guy gave the girl a call and said these things as stated below. Then he posted the conversation online:

a) I know where you live (mentioning the town name)
b) I know your name and I can get your information
c) What will you do if I come to your house now?
d) What if other guys come to your house now?

I seriously don't understand under what capacity these Indian guys think they are qualified enough to threaten a girl into adhering to the so called culture - intimidating the girl with her personal information and threatening to come to her house. What gave you the right to come over to her house when you are just a random Indian guy? Who the f*** do you think you are to come over to her house?

See, the point here is many were supporting that guy quoting that he did the right thing and he was just advising the girl. No one questioned the fact that he was threatening her out of entitlement. Say an Indian guy does drugs, can a girl call and threaten him? Tell him that she is coming to his house? Somehow such acts against Indian girls who create musical videos, drink or smoke were accepted by the Indian society.

If these Indian guys are so into protecting the Indian culture, why can't they start reforming Indian guys whom are involved with drugs, alcohol, gangsterism or criminal activities? Nope, they can't because a macha will not fault another macha, but takes great pleasure in trying to advise girls.

Dear Indian guys, if you wanted to protect Indian culture much, I suggest you start with yourself first, then your mach friends before even talking about how Indian girls behave. If you are unemployed, first get a job before you even start preaching culture to others. Moral policing women does not make you a hero..no matter what Tamil movies tell you.
