#MeToo - Do Nothing to Women and they will be Safe!

Is doing nothing so hard?

You see, if all the sexual harassment accused & convicted people did nothing and didn't abuse their power and stayed true to professional ethics, #MeToo wouldn't have come into being.

Hypothetical situations.

If those alleged asking sexual favours for acting chance from aspiring actresses, note Harvey Weinstein, Lawrence, Nani, Murugadoss etc did nothing of that sort to the women, note Sri Reddy, Aditi Rao, except only assess their acting talent for a film role, then this won't have happened.

If the directors and big names in the film industry apply meritocracy - that only talent is the criteria besides dedication and passion to acting to win a role and not willingness to share the bed, then we would have got quality actors to look up to.

You can easily say that if you have dignity, walk away from such men in power - you will be respected coz you didn't put career before your 'honour.' But, stop and think how many talents were lost for your wrongly defined meaning of honour. The only people who are dishonoured here are those using their position to bed young girls, girls that they know are 'clean' - refer to the scene in Aruvi where the director of the show shows relief - enakku antha ponnu oda sex vechikuttu AIDS vara paathuchu, not those having ambitions and willingness to work to achieve their goals.

You may ask so if she slept with the director and got the role, she wouldn't have come out right? Yes. But when she didn't get her end of the deal, she has all the right to kick up a fuss. If a government that you voted for didn't keep its promises, will you keep quiet? Very simple - to all the Tamil boys, when your gf who promised to stay with you forever, marry you and love you forever does a cartwheel and marries someone else, are you keeping quiet? How many songs and punch dialogues vilifying women as 'insincere' and 'heartbreakers'? From the movie Youth to Moonu, boys are constantly kicking up a fuss about women who didn't keep the end of their deal. When betrayal of trust hurt you boys so much, what makes you think it's different for girls? The pain of duplicity feels the same for everyone.

So, what can you do to get the best quality human units, not only in the film industry but also in education and other job deals? Do nothing to harm those who are subordinate to you using your power and keep everything professional. That's the way we will progress, not by protecting wrongdoers and blaming the victims. If we go on doing this shit, not only we will be weakened, evolution will phase us out because those who are the fittest aren't given chances to survive.

Quote from Indian:
"Thaan seiyuradhu thappune theriadha alavuku thappu palagi pochu"
True in every way.
