Hindu culture and women - are we really following Hinduism?

Quote: Ramayana Chapter 114, Lord Ram said:
Women are respected by the respect they get from the nation and their own habits. Any kind of restrictions on women, of home, dress code, boundary - in order to protect their respect is unwise.

So, as you can see, restricting women is deemed futile in Hinduism. Women can protect themselves and save their own respect without rules and regulations on how they should be.

Since the topic is dressing, i watched the animated movie Bal Ganesh and Goddess Parvati was dressed exactly like how the women in the pic of the left side of the meme.

If you can respect, lower your gaze and have bhakti on imposing and scantily clad female statues like Kaliamma, why can’t you do the same for real life women, in temples or anywhere else?

And, you make stupid comparisons, asking women to go to temples nude and in bikinis. Bodoh piang betul. Like the quote goes, women are not stupid to not know edam, porul, eval - not asking rights to come to temple in bikini, just asking to let sari variations which in actuality does not go against the grain of Hinduism.

Victorian culture is patriarchal and it was absorbed into Indian culture during the British Raj - remember the white man’s burden? And many of you mix up culture with religion, hence this supreme discombobulation and mess. Hindu culture never restricts women - Indian culture of Victorian influence does; two ironies trying to be tied up into 1 by Malaysian Indian Hindus.

You say that it is not written in Gita, Vedas, Purans or Upanishads to stop at red lights. Agreed but you follow vegetarianism on all/certain days as written in them, don’t you? You chant the holy mantras don’t you? You believe that nuclear destruction is envisioned in the Gita don’t you? There was dressing in Vedic times and there is dressing now - that’s the relevance. You can start/like vandi punde Facebook page, have raging boners there, drop your number there and suddenly become a proponent for ladies ‘proper’ (whatever proper means) dressing in temples? Who you’re cheating?! Those girls who wear such clothing to temple are better - they’re being honest to themselves unlike you who is trying to cheat god.

So what if these girls come to temples to show off? Why is their motive your concern? Are you faultless to call these girls and us bitches and whores? You don’t wank at porn? Your only concern should be your motive of coming to temple. Why do you go to a temple? What do you seek in the sanctum of the temple? Do you come to temple to connect to god or parakk paakuran (be distracted)? When you pray, pray for others as well, that all of universe will be harmonious and accepting. That’s a noble purpose - restricting what women should wear and blaming women are not. Seek to control yourself - that’s what a true Hindu does, even when others don’t control themselves. Go figure.
