Low quality machas expecting the society to cater to their low expectations
Machas today are too damn lazy to improve themselves in terms of education, employment and soft skills. They prefer to stay exactly where they are at the moment and are contented with their average skills. If anyone were to point out to these machas that they are lagging behind in life, they quickly get defensive and indulge in personal attacks.
One good example is the glaring fact that many machas out there who literally complain that our articles are too lengthy and should be limited to 4 lines. Macha's English is so broken but he still prefers to limit his reading activities to 4 lines. Instead of improving on their vocabulary and grammar through those lengthy essays, these machas were ‘oppari vekkiraning’ about it in their profile pages. So, instead of catching up with the so called ‘Oxford English’ that we use to write, these machas are happy with their broken, senseless English. They expect us to change our style of writing and stop posting our ‘English homeworks’ online.
Then, when there are meenachis who argue or debate with them in fluent English, the same machas go ‘tho paruda, akka Peter uduranggo’ (dude, she thinks she is English). Simply because they can’t match up to the level of argument that is being put forward. They resort to personal insults and humiliation. This is how typical machas argue with meenachis who can speak English well. They feel proud of their incompetence - Ungge perumei le erumei meye – (may the buffalo roam free on your pride).
Of course, these machas are entirely at fault. The Indian society is also shaped in a way that enables these machas to thrive without an ounce of shame for their shortcomings. Not long ago, we did write on meenachis who were forced to settle down with lesser qualified machas. Some of them were told – kude padicha aprom mappilai kadaika kastham (if you are highly educated, then it’s difficult to get a potential suitor). See how the society has decided to halt meenachi from obtaining higher education rather than to encourage machas to improve their education level? The society itself has indulged towards machas’ lower standard of life. They are more than willing to bend backwards and allow machas to lag behind. It’s not surprising to have such machas who can’t understand what is being conveyed in our articles, twisting our words to suit their interpretation and personal insults. Sometimes, we do sit back and enjoy the stupidity that these machas out rightly display as means of thrashing us.
The society allows machas to cover their shortcomings in life with random, silly excuses. For example, mappilai ku thani podure palakkam iruku (the bridegroom has a pension for alcohol consumption). The society will go – ambele na,appadi ippadi than irupan (a guy will have his follies). Instead of admonishing his act, the society will be more concerned of advising the future wife to change him. (Appa amma solli thirunthathe pakkige lam, pondati vanthu sonna tirinturunggela?) Guys who don’t have a good sense to listen to their parents, will they even listen to their wife? These are just some petty, on the surface examples of how these machas were given too much leeway to justify their stupidity and shortcomings. It makes them think that they are entitled to insult anyone who is better educated and fluently spoken than them. These machas make incompetence; laziness and ignorance seem like virtues. As long as such machas and mentality exists, the Indian society will be continuously plagued by backward thinking.
